Your travel-loving, adventure-chasing, detail-organizing heart behind Borealis Travel by Valkyrie Group LLC — proudly Veteran-Owned and fueled by years of real-world experience (and a serious love for exploring new places).
For 20+ years, the military had me hopping across the world — sometimes planned, sometimes VERY unplanned. Along the way, I picked up a knack for navigating airports like second homes, finding local gems in places I didn’t even know existed, and squeezing in adventure every chance I got.
Pretty soon people kept asking me:
“How are you always traveling?”
“Where did you find THAT place?”
“Can you help me figure out my trip?”
…And I loved those conversations.
So I turned that passion — and all those years of tips, tricks, and “learned-it-the-hard-way” travel lessons — into the business I’m proud to run today.
Hi, I’m Shannon
I’m a U.S. Air Force veteran and lifelong traveler whose work and curiosity have carried me across the globe, including to many of the world’s Arctic nations. Among them, Norway captured my heart—it’s sweeping fjords, crisp air, and spirit of the outdoors feel like home to me.
I’m passionate about the northern way of life—from quiet winter landscapes to the energy of dog sledding and the thrill of the Iditarod, my favorite time of year.
Through Borealis Travel, I combine my background in service and travel to help others explore with confidence, discovery, and heart—creating journeys that reflect both the strength and serenity of the Arctic world.

Personal Note
I’ve always believed that the most powerful places on Earth change us — if we let them.
The Arctic and High North have a way of slowing time. Of quieting the noise. Of reminding us how small we are, and how extraordinary this world can be. But they also demand respect, preparation, and expertise — which is why Borealis Travel exists.
Every journey I plan is personal. Every recommendation is intentional. And every itinerary is built around one goal: allowing you to fully experience the magic of the High North — comfortably, safely, and meaningfully.
I’m honored to help guide you there.
